Many years ago, when I started doing interviews during the world's largest Country Music Festival (every February / March in Zurich, Switzerland), the question was what to ask.
Famous artists do so many interviews that they get bored answering the same questions over and over again. So the main goal right from the start was to ask what hardly anybody is asking.
This means a lot of preparation work and research in order to pull together the "right" set of questions.
Some one hundred interviews and many meetings with the stars later, I have developed a sense of "what to ask". My ultimate goal is to make the artists think before they answer. If they have to think, you can be sure that you've asked something they are not hearing every day.
Many of the questions have proven to be re-usable. However, I always try to bring in some new questions.
See what the artists had to say on the occasion of talking to me.
These interviews have been published in various magazines. Also, some of the acts have posten the entire version or excerpts on their website. Some others have been broadcasted on radio stations.
