The California Historic Route 66 Association provides many guidebooks for your trip in Crossing the state line at Needles. Eat at the Wagon Wheel. There are two stretches of Mother Road here. One from Needles via Goffs, Fenner to Essex. For the other we took Mountain Springs Road to reach Essex. Arriving in Cadiz. It's a ghost town. But the sign by the rails is there. Amboy. Don't get lost on Foothill Boulevard, it's pretty tricky to follow... ...through Rialto and on to... ...the Drive Inn Theatre inAzusa Approaching the end of Mother Road on Santa Monica Boulevard. Sign at the end of the road and Santa Monica Pier. 2'448 Miles of were behind us.
